Welcome To The Tytherton Ride

The Tytherton Ride was established in 1986 and is one of the most popular rides in Wiltshire. It was set up to raise funds for local charities within Bremhill parish by providing equestrians the opportunity to enjoy riding on land that they wouldn’t normally be able to access. This tradition continues to guide our approach today.

Typically, around 300 riders annually come to enjoy the wonderful scenery and sweeping views that this well marked course follows. Every year, we aim to provide around a 10 mile route. However, this is dependant on ground conditions which means we may have to adjust the route length at the last minute.

The ride is suitable for novice and experienced riders alike, or for green horses starting out in their career. There are no jumps around the course however in the final field there are many log jumps that you are welcome to use however many times you like! There will be a short route too if you find your horse is too excited or not fit enough just yet. We can confirm on the day how long each route ends up being.

The routes are well sign posted with friendly volunteer stewards on hand to ensure the safety of the rider. There will be a couple of refreshment points too dotted around. Some road work is required but mainly you will be going through fields, woods or on farm tracks.

It is the generosity of our landowners and farmers that has ensured the longevity of this popular ride and we are indebted to them.

Mini Ride

We are keen to encourage our younger generation and provide a mini route. This route is well away from the main one and is around three miles long so is suitable for pedestrian accompanied and/or lead rein. It is down in a gorgeous valley and is very quiet with wonderful views.

On-site Facilities

There is a large, flat field that is suitable for parking lorries and trailers. We have a tractor on hand should anyone need it. Please have your towing eye in place on arrival.

We provide loos including one for the disabled, paramedics, a doctor, vets and a farrier as well as a photographer. The Tytherton Village Hall team will be on hand selling hot and cold drinks, bacon butties, burgers, crisps, cakes and nibbles.
